Comments:
Bark are a local band comprising a percussionist, guitarist and Gary Cannell. I picked up a tape of Gary a couple of years ago in Alice - great stuff - didj, congos etc., really good rhythms. Gary is quite incredible - he plays didj and a drum set at the same time !!!!.

Self titled debut album from the red Centre of Australia. Diverse compositions that are laced with aural images of the desert and its inhabitants. This album features a delightful absence of kit drum and a healthy proliferation of hand percussion including Udu (African clay drum) and Djembe (West African wooden drum). Most of the tracks are jazzy improvisations around a theme - like "Soaring Eagle" - weaves a beautiful story of the Eagle as it soars silently above the vast, flat land, strikes, then returns to silence. Didjeridu, percussion, keyboards, saxophone.
